What is KPV?
In short: KPV is a tripeptide (lysine–proline–valine), the C-terminal fragment of alpha-MSH, studied in preclinical inflammation models; no large human trials exist. Standalone supply is scarce, so most buyers meet KPV inside the KLOW and GLOW blends. Sold for laboratory research use only, it is not FDA-approved, and a July 2026 FDA advisory vote (8–6–1) recommended it for compounding; FDA staff recommended against it and the recommendation is advisory only.
KPV is one of the smallest peptides in this market — just three amino acids — and one of the hardest to buy on its own. Most people who encounter it do so as an ingredient in a blend, which makes comparing price and quality genuinely difficult. This page explains what it is, why supply looks the way it does, and what the blends containing it actually cost.
The basics
- Type: a tripeptide (lysine–proline–valine) that forms the C-terminal fragment of alpha-MSH, a naturally occurring signaling molecule.
- Research focus: the published literature examines KPV in preclinical models of inflammation, with a notable cluster of work on intestinal inflammation models, plus a limited body of human gut-related literature. There are no large randomized controlled trials.
- Formats sold: rarely standalone. KPV reaches the market mainly inside pre-mixed blends — KLOW (which adds KPV to the GLOW formula) and related combination vials.
The blends: GLOW and KLOW
Two blend names dominate this corner of the catalogue:
- GLOW — a combination of GHK-Cu, BPC-157 and TB-500. No recoverable vendor-counted retail range; trade benchmark $15.48 per 70 mg vial (Peptides Wholesale USA trade list, checked 24 Oct 2026).
- KLOW — the GLOW combination plus KPV. No recoverable vendor-counted retail range; trade benchmark $17.08 per 80 mg vial (Peptides Wholesale USA trade list, checked 24 Oct 2026).
Blends exist for a practical reason: a single pre-mixed vial replaces three or four separate items, one purchase and one certificate of analysis. The trade-off for buyers is transparency — a blend's COA should verify each component, and when it doesn't, there is no way to confirm what the vial contains. Standalone KPV does exist in wholesale channels (published benchmarks put a 10 mg vial in the single-digit dollars at trade level), but retail availability is thin: at least one vendor analysis notes KPV is not stocked alone in its own catalogue and is obtainable only inside KLOW.
What the evidence actually shows
KPV's evidence base is preclinical plus limited human literature — interesting enough that researchers keep publishing on it, nowhere near strong enough to support the confident claims in some vendor copy. There are no large RCTs, and nothing in the literature has been reviewed by the FDA for any use. Research interest is real; proven human effect is not established.
Regulatory status (October 2026)
KPV was one of the six compounds the FDA's Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee voted on in July 2026, receiving an 8–6–1 vote to recommend inclusion on the 503A Bulks List. As with the other five: the vote is advisory, FDA staff recommended against it, the FDA has not acted, and KPV cannot lawfully be compounded by 503A pharmacies as of October 2026. The blends containing it sit in the same research-chemical position.
What KPV and its blends cost
Because standalone retail supply is scarce, there is no clean standalone price series for KPV the way there is for MOTS-c or Selank. The meaningful comparison is the blends against published trade benchmarks (GLOW $15.48 per 70 mg vial, KLOW $17.08 per 80 mg vial; Peptides Wholesale USA trade list, checked 24 Oct 2026); no recoverable vendor-counted retail range exists for either blend. Full context — including the compounds inside the blends priced separately — is on the price-comparison page.
What to check before buying any research peptide
- Per-component COA for blends: every named ingredient verified, batch-specific, third-party.
- Stated composition: the vial's contents and amounts per component printed on the listing — if a blend won't say what's in it, walk away.
- Price sanity: compare against the tracked ranges above before paying top-of-range prices.
